I jumped from the excellent Camper Van Beethoven's "Pictures of Matchstick Men" to Kylie Minogue's "Locomotion" and have honestly jeopardized friendships with my assertion that I enjoy "Sweet Jane" less when it is sung by Lou Reed (even though I'm a huge Lou Reed fan) because there is an element of languid torpor that I crave in my dysfunctional woman songs and the Cowboy Junkies hit the sweet spot. But that's just me.
