I almost worked myself into a lather last night, thinking that my Tivo had missed the season premiere of Ugly Betty, but no, the season premiere isn't until September 25th. Phew! Even so, I've been greedily scooping up all of the awesome Ugly Betty gossip that's been hitting the wires. For instance, I so miss the gruesome twosome of Michael Urie and Becky Newton. Actually, I think I actually just need Marc St. James in my life, 24/7, so that we can have bff love and grow old and snarky together. And I am kind of dying to buy or replicate the top that LiLo is wearing in these vaguely spoilerific stills. How hot is that? Way hot. But the best pre-Betty gossip has to be this interview with Ashley Jensen, who plays the Scottish wardrobe mistress, Christina. When asked how she deals with Hollywood and Size 0, she said in an interview:
We're obsessed with how we're meant to look. I feel a responsibility to not do that because it's dangerous. People end up having exactly the same bodies...I always knew I was never the prettiest or ugliest girl in the room. Life's too short to inject botulism into you face to get rid of a tiny line because you've laughed too much. I don't feel a need to lose weight, because I'm not 21. I'm happy with my package.
Hello, body happiness, party of one, your table is ready! What a lovely thought to cap off what has been a somewhat volatile week in the body image news! Thank you, Ashley! Now text me Michael Urie's e-mail address?
