Vodka is the amazing super alcohol. It is odorless, colorless, can mix brilliantly with just about anything in the whole wide world (chocolate milk? try it and report back!), has brought us the delicious girl-drink bastardization of the word "martini" (An appletini is not a real drink! But it's still kind of tasty. Don't tell anyone). Vodka is also a versatile, infusible wunderkind--it is the beautiful basis for our very favorite refreshing summer drink, the -cello, particularly the lemon kind, can be mixed with ginger for a spicy-sweet drink, and can be made nuclear-colored, completely festive and perfect for insane mixed drink madness if you pour a handful of Skittles down the neck of a bottle and cover them with our friend vodka.
