![]() Can a T-shirt help save the world? The guys at StatAttak think maybe they can help. What they've done is take the horrifying statistics you run across in the news--the life expectancy in some of the poorest countries in the world, infant mortality rates, the rising number of cases of AIDS--and made them literal and graphic and wearable (on sweatshop-free American Apparel T-shirts, of course). Come a little closer, you say, to people who compliment the abstract, colorful design on your chest, and let me talk to you about how screwed up it is that 88 percent of the population of Zambia lives beneath the poverty line. What are you going to do with these facts? That's up to you. What these guys are doing is socking away 20 percent of the proceeds with an eye toward building an orphanage in Mozambique. |
