Here's another reason the dress is not allowed to die: in the summer, there's nothing easier than a lightweight, comfortable dress in a soft fabric that drapes beautifully. This wrap dress from Old Navy is pretty much the Platonic ideal of an easy summer dress. The sleeves are loose and light, the gather at the side emphasizes your sexy waist and flatters your curvy belly, and the neckline dips sexily, but not too much. You can look fresh, cool and professional at the office with a cute pair of flats, or sex it up with a pair of ridiculous shiny sandals and fabulous jewelry at night. And check out the very, very awesome Fatshionista livejournal community, for their excellent suggestions on helping out what they affectionately call "chub rub."

Waaaah, they don't have it in regular women's, only plus size? I love it! Jealous.

I'm so jealous of people who are normal heights.

If I was like 3 inches shorter, I could rock dresses. As it is, dresses make me look like I just turned 13 and outgrew everything I own. The articulation for the waist is too high, the hemlines are too high, and I look like an oddly shaped clothes hanger.

So far, BCBG empire waists are what I have to go to which are fine, but sometimes I want to look more mature and have a waist, you know? Everyone automatically thinks "Oh, you're 5'11"? You must be able to wear model clothes!" No. You cannot wear model clothes with muscley thighs, hips, and a butt.

So jealous of your casual dress-wearing abilities... :)

It's lovely and I do want...except, I don't buy anything from Old Navy because they don't carry plus sizes in their stores (only on the Web).

Once they make room for me, then I will buy.
