![]() image via apartment therapy re-nest Way back in the wilds of November 2007, one of our favorite sites, Apartment Therapy, put together this how-to on creating a perfect little indoor herb garden, all green and tasty and fancy looking, in a little pot. It was November, a winter was approaching, and the idea of fresh and bright flavors all through the very dark months? The timing was perfect. The timing remains perfect, in this endless winter of neverendingness. Personally speaking. But it's also such a good idea for apartment dwellers, people without outside spaces in which to toil and enjoy the fruits of the sweat of their brows, people who are a little afraid of nature and growing things and kind of really wish that meat came packaged neatly and didn't start out with faces and feet. A little herb garden, in a little pot, which is a little bit of freshness, is an excellent way to set your trembling feet on the path to culinary greatness. Just remember to water it, right? Right. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

I have herbs growing in pots on the back porch of my apartment (it's no longer winter here in Florida!), and they're beautiful and delicious and healthy-meal-inspiring, and so prolific I'm giving bunches away to friends! I love my herbs. ;-)
....I would possibly attempt this, if only my cats would not see the herbs as either (a) a tasty snack that would later end up on the floor RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BATHROOM DOOR where I will step in it in the middle of the night or (b) a fun new toy to be flung about. (Mine even try to eat/shred plastic plants.)
