Threadless fills a void in me--the empty place that tells me a cool T-shirt is the key to coolness, that people will like me and relate to me, that I will make friends, when they look at my arty, interesting outfit, that they will think: "That is a person with very excellent taste and a sense of humor that is so much in line with my own! We should totally have babies with one another or maybe a lot of sex." Hot Topic used to be my vendor of choice--I mean, what's cooler than an Invader Zim T-shirt? Nothing. But Threadless is an artist's community, where designers come up with fancy new shirts, normal people vote on them, and the coolest become the coolest T-shirts that everyone can buy. Democracy in action! We approve of Democracy. We're not sure we approve of the tattoos that people get of those designs, for oh, so many reasons. But we can leave that discussion alone.

Seriously, though, I love Threadless. They're printed on sweatshop-free American Apparel tees, so moral bonus. Plus, I love their pretty designs, and their funny designs, and the designs that speak directly to my heart.  And I love that they're having a sale. I don't love that a there's a tiny part of me that really does think they make me cooler. But at least it's cheaper to be awesome, now.
