Ok, it gets my dander up whenever anyone who is clearly within a healthy, sane BMI gets called "fat." Nikki Blonsky is fat. I am fat. Missy Elliott used to be fat and phat, now she's just phat. But Tyra? Girlfriend might be crazy but she is undeniably NOT fat. It's pretty clear that Janice was using poor Al Roker as a conduit through which to hurl insults at Tyra while the TV viewers looked on, but instead of calling her a bitch, instead of calling her a control freak or a fivehead or a failed singer or the worst actor ever, Janice chose the easy route and went for the cellulite. And now I don't like her as much. Not because she slung the fat word around (she is, after all, just a reflection of society) but because she is making me defend Tyra Fucking Banks! This is a symptom, guys. This is the same reason that Jennifer Love Hewitt is now telling the Internet to go fuck itself (although, we're absolutely certain that she doesn't mean Elastic Waist). Why does this word have so much power? In the second paragraph, did you think I was being mean by calling Nikki Blonsky fat? This is not a judgment, it's just a physical description. She's also a brunette. She's also adorable. She also can sing like nobody's business. She's also fat. I need an agreement from you right now. You know if you're fat and you know if you're not. Let's own this word. If you had blue eyes, would you whine to people that your eyes are so brown that you want to weep? No? Then why would a size 6 person whine about being so fat they can't stand it? You are a size 6! Get over it! Take back the word! Don't let them use it against you, regardless of what size your jeans are. Own your body and no one can have any power over it anymore. —Weetabix 4 CommentsLeave a comment |

Wow, this is how I'm feeling about the situation as well. I used to love her, but now I fear I have to hate her. Which sucks, I love bitchy crazy women!
I'm thinking about taking out a billboard:
"Cellulite and Fat: Two Different Things.
My Body=Mine: You Don't Get To Comment On It Unless I Ask You To, So Zip It."
I'm sorry, I despise Janice Dickinson.
BTW, I absolutely agree, let's take back the word fat! It's not an insult, it just is.
And Nikki Blonsky (did I misspell her name?) ROCKS!!!!!
Great post!
This has really been a tipping point for me with Janice Dickinson... I used to think she was hilarious and crazy, but now I think she's crazy and unkind.
