Some people say 20 minutes of aerobic activity 3 times a week is plenty. Others say 45 minutes, 5 times a week. Once and for all, how much cardio do we need (or does it just vary per person)?

First of all, some people naturally aren't comfortable working out 5 times per week, and some people are uncomfortable working out less than 5 times per week. I do cardio 3-??4 times a week for 30-45 minutes and I encourage my clients to do the same, if not more, depending on their goals and comfort level.

If you'??re trying to lose weight, I'd suggest you do some sort of aerobic activity 5 times per week for at least 30-45 minutes. Cardio really is a terrific calorie burner.

All of my clients (and I) feel amazing when we exercise. And when you feel amazing, you're less likely to eat garbage foods so just on that alone, I'd suggest you exercise as many days as possible. Even if you do 5 minutes of jumping jacks before you shower that'??s better than nothing! The bottom line is that you do what you feel comfortable with.

What's your favorite piece of equipment in the gym?
My mind. Or my iPod. If you don't have the right mindset for working out it won't matter what you do.
It's not what you do. It's how you do it!

But if I had to pick one piece of gym equipment it would be dumbbells. It'??s amazing how many different exercises you can do with dumbbells. I also prefer dumbbells over barbells because the range of motion is much greater. You can really squeeze and feel the muscle during the entire exercise.
