Something you might not know: Adam Gilbert likes to get down. Also, he eats peanut butter. Suddenly we feel our hearts aflutter.

What's the best thing I can eat before a workout? The worst?
The best: a piece of whole-wheat bread with some organic peanut butter; or some nuts; or a piece of fruit; or a vegetable. My pre-workout meal is a tablespoon of peanut butter and depending how hungry I am Iâ??ll have it with a piece of whole-wheat bread. Just as long as you have enough energy to get through it youâ??ll be okay, but you really want to make sure you donâ??t eat too much before.

The worst? Well, anything thatâ??s going to have to make you unbutton your pants because youâ??re so full and anything that you normally wouldnâ??t want to eat. Fatty and greasy fried foods, candy, white flour, etc.

What do you have in your iPod right now as your go-to, pump you up songs?

For working out I need music that inspires me and gets me dreaming and going. Right now Iâ??m obsessed with Junkie XL. They are amazing. Itâ??s like house/trance music with insane beats. Find whatever makes you want to get up and move. Something that gets your mind working. For example, when I was a little kid, watching Rocky would make me want to work out. Actually, it still does now. So for a while it was Rocky. What makes you want to dance and workout? What inspires you to become the person you dream about becoming?  Here are some songs that are doing it for me right now:

    "Today (Unkle Mix 1)"

Mostly anything from Missy Elliot or Timbaland works for me. Possibly my all time favorite workout song is "Talk" by Coldplay (Junkie XL Remix). Or how about "Lying From You" by Linkin Park? Listen to the words of that song.

I just need something that gets me pumped up. Something that gets me thinking. Something that makes me want to dance and move. Music is a big part of my life, so I can go on and on. What gets you going? What wakes you up?

yeah right, if I tried to have a spoonful of peanut butter as a pre-workout snack, I'd end up on the couch with a jar of pb and a spoon, and my workout would be totally forgotten.

I'd marry peanut butter if only it would ask.

Corny, maybe... but I'm LOVING Stronger by Kanye during my workouts these days...
