First we brought you a healthy living and nutrition expert. But we couldn't stop there, because who doesn't love an expert opinion?  Introducing Adam Gilbert, our new fitness guru on Elastic Waist. When Weetabix interviewed Adam about his online fitness program My Body Tutor, we were floored by the positive response from people who have worked with him and, not to get all corny on you, whose lives he has changed. So now here he is, and he's all ours. Send in your questions and we'll run them by him.

What would you say is your fitness philosophy?

Consistency. Most people give up after 3-5 days of dieting and working out. I'm all about following a healthy and sustainable way of life. Dieting and exercise isn't a part of your life...it is your life. I've never met anyone who doesn't want to be healthier and more physically fit. But we all let work and the gazillion distractions we have affect us. It's about doing what you really want to do and when you do what you really want to do, you feel amazing. And life is too short to not feel amazing all the time!

Amen to that. So what's the number one thing your clients always ask?

How soon will I see results? Like anything in life, you get out what you put in. The most empowering thing about all of our bodies is that we control the way they look. You eat right and train hard, you'll see results. Your body never ever lies! As I said before, though, it's all about consistency. You'd be amazed at how a consistent month or two can really change the way you look and feel.

How important is weight/resistance training in a workout routine? Will I be okay if I just do cardio?

You will be okay if you don't do anything. It's all about what you want out of your life. Weight/resistance training has its place in every workout. But a lot of women I've worked with get intimidated when they go to the gym and they see all of these meatheads lifting. If you dread going to the gym, you'll never go.  Usually when there is too much to do or something is too confusing we wind up doing nothing. Getting some free weights for your home might be a better idea. Find what works for you and do what you feel comfortable doing.

I don't belong to a gym. What strength exercises can I do at home with no equipment?

Push ups. If you can't do a single push up, try harder. And If that's not going to do it, put your knees on the ground. Don't leave the ground until you do one perfect push up. Even if it's with your knees. Now the next day, don't leave until you do two perfect ones. And on and on. Here's an exercise: Raise your hand in the air. Now raise it one inch higher. See? We can always push ourselves a little bit harder.
