Sunday, May 6 will be International No Diet Day! The day that urges lifelong dieters to throw aside your inhibitions, erase all of those forbidden foods and refuse to deprive yourself of yummy goodness, just for the sake of fitting into a smaller pair of jeans. We love this sentiment, as we support safe and sane healthy fitness while loving yourself just as you are, with every bump and squidgy spot on your body, without starving yourself or being unkind to that which makes you strong. In honor of No Diet Day, here's a musical ode of great tunes that can reinforce the notion not to deny yourself delicious food for the sake of saving calories. "Ice Cream," Sarah McLachlan
"Chop Suey," System of a Down
"There's Got to Be More to Life," Stacie Orrico
"Tom's Diner," Suzanne Vega
"Honey in My Tea," Old 97's
"Champagne Supernova," Oasis
"Candy," Iggy Pop
"Lollipop," Aqua
"Lips Like Sugar," The Replacements
"Milk and Honey," Nick Drake
"Dinner at Eight," Rufus Wainwright
"Cheeseburger in Paradise," Jimmy Buffett
"Know Your Chicken," Cibo Matto
"Dinner Bell," They Might Be Giants
"Banana Boat Song," Harry Belafonte
"Milkshake," Kelis
"Peaches," The Presidents of the USA
"Chocolate and Cheese," Ween
"Quiche Lorraine," The B-52's
"Mayonnaise," Smashing Pumpkins
"Hungry Woman Blues," Gaye Adebalola
"I Like Food," The Descendents
"Whatever Lola Wants," Sarah Vaughan
We've compiled a handy iMix for you to download the songs available on iTunes. Just go to the music store and search on "Elastic Waist--No Diet Day" and get downloading! Missing a potent potable? We were very sad to find no suitable song homages to our favorite of all calorie-laden foods, bacon. The comments invite you to make up a song to your favorite edible. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

How appropriate that I'll be having a raucous and lingering brunch on May 6th, surrounded by friends, gourmet sausage, and booze. Hooray for no diet day!
