The Gen X crowd is famous for wanting it all, and often their own fitness takes a backseat to life's demands. We always like to joke with our trainer that if the effort we exerted on the treadmill actually did something, like generated power or perhaps cured cancer, then maybe it wouldn't seem like drudgery to stand there flipping through playlists and staring out at a row of perfect Spandex-covered asses jumping up and down on the Stairmaster. If the only exercise you get is when you scurry across the mall to find the Starbucks, the key is to find unconventional ways to fit cardio into your life, like Alicia Silverstone's favorite workout, goofing around with her husband on their trampoline. By doing this, you can see gradual but steady improvement in your fitness levels. Besides, the Baby Boomers are getting older and in case you forgot, they invented aerobics (or like to think they did). Do you really want your grandmother to make you look bad? No matter what your fitness level, you can't help but be inspired by indie rocker Ben Kweller's grandmother in the video for his latest single, "Penny On The Train Track." We had to send this link to our moms and grandmas, because by the end of the video, we got up off of our asses and applauded. That had to have burned at least a couple of calories, right? 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

God, but I hope that if I make it to that age I have half her sense of fun and zest for life.
Which means, of course, that I only have to live, oh, say, another 10 minutes or so. The rate time is whooshing by me right now, that's how it will feel.
That was AWESOME! I needed a smile tonight and she put a big smile on my face! I love it! made me think of my own grandmother. Awesome video! You go grandma!
